SWIM in the crystal clear calm waters of the Mexican Caribbean. Two laps arround a triangular course of 1.9km. Buoy markings every 100 m. and big banana-like buoys at the turning points. No wetsuits, water temperature 26°C (79°F). Maximum water depth: 30 ft. Visibility: 100% (just like snorkeling!) Distance: 3.8 km.

BIKE along the route of the ancient Mayas. The recently new 4 lane highway between Cancun and Merida. Perfect road conditions, so you can just concentrate on your aerobars, your breathing and your rpm's. You will feel embraced by the Mayan jungle on both sides, just listen to the exotic wildlife as you pedal your way over the 3 lap course, for better spectator viewing. Distance: 180 km.

RUN what can simply be called the most beautiful marathon in the world. Run over Kukulcan Boulevard, the strip of land between the Caribbean Sea and the beautiful Nichupte lagoon. Dazzling views over the paths of the Golf Course designed by...., and go back in history while running next to the thousand year old Mayan ruins and pyramids know as El Rey (The King). See the sunset dye the lagoon and the sky into an incredible combination of orange and pink. The 3 lap course is totally flat for a better pacing, with distance markings every 1 km. and every 1 mi. Aid stations every km. Distance: 42.2 km.

TRANSITION area will be located right next to the start and finish areas, so you friends and family can cheer you as you will pass by the spectator area 6 times. All this will happen at the parking lot of the Wet n' wild park in Cancun, so the cheerful spectators can spend a day full of activity and fun, while waiting for the finishers.

RELAYS: This category will be open for those athletes who do not want to race the entire distance, but have always wanted to take part in a long distance Triathlon and feel the real spirit of such a challenge. Live it up close with your friends and family, and join them in what is also a real challenge in itself, either swimming a rough 3.8km, biking over a hard 180 km, or simply run a 42.2 km marathon.

RACE DAY: October 18, 2003.
