REGULATIONS: The
outcome of the Maadman depends mostly on the following points: The
clock will start from the moment of the starting signal, which will be at 6:30
am and will run continuosly until the end of the competition, which will officially
end 17 hours after the start. Resting
time, transitions, and other time used will count as part of your total time. Timing
splits for every segment of the competition will be available. For
the swimming segment the time limit is 2 hours and 20 minutes after the race starts.
Any competitor who remains in the water after 2 hours and 20 minutes will be disqualified
and removed from the Maadman. The disqualified athletes can not continue in the
competition. For
the bike segment the time limit is 10 hours and 30 minutes after the race start.
Any competitor who remains on the bike course after this time will be disqualified
from the Maadman. Disqualified athletes can not continue in the competition. The
same rules and conditions apply to the running segment with a time limit of 17
hours after the race starts. It
is highly recommended that you take these rules into consideration and comply
with the time limit conditions. These are safety rules for those athlethes who
have to quit the challenge as well for those who continue competing. This will
assure the quality of the event. In
case you quit during any segment of the Maadman, it is important to notify a race
official as soon as possible and return your timing chip. It is very important
for your security as an athlete and for us as an organizing committee to know
your location during the race.
